MARITIME GOURMET MUSHROOMS INC.

Founded in 2014, Maritime Gourmet Mushrooms Inc. started as a pursuit of passion for sustainable and innovative farming practices. The cultivation of exotic mushrooms is both a challenge and an exciting endeavor. Located in rural Nova Scotia we focus on cultivating the most unique and freshest exotic mushrooms available on the market today.

In addition to growing we also provide consultation services for other exotic mushroom farms, as well as supply ready-to-fruit substrate for multiple commercial farms throughout Canada and the USA.

We are grateful for the opportunity to pursue our dreams and provide fresh, healthy food for our community with environmental sustainability as a core value. All of our exotic mushrooms are grown on agricultural and forestry bi-products, such as virgin sawdust from local timber mills, which helps complete the circular economy. Our mushrooms are then grown on this substrate and further upcycled as our spent mushroom compost is then sold to local farms and gardeners as a soil amendment.

This year we are making a large leap forward in our pursuit of sustainable farming practices and reducing our carbon footprint. Maritime Gourmet Mushrooms is in the process of completing a solar installation that will allow us to replace up to 100% of our electricity use with clean renewable energy.
